One of the coolest trends in the last few years has been the use of GIF (Graphical Interchange Format) images as a new way to look at key movie scenes. By compressing full scenes into just a couple of frames of movement and adding a line or two of dialogue, details emerge that weren't as noticeable in the theater. One of the most popular subjects of the GIF treatment has been Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy - Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises

Over on tumblr, there are hundreds of GIFs based on the Nolan movies, and I think I've seen most of them. I decided it would be fun to collect my Top Twenty Most Awesome Batman GIFs in one place, but  it was impossible to post them all here on Capes

So, I invite you to check out Capes on Film on tumblr, and see if these GIFs aren't the most awesome you've seen. By the way, you'll notice that some of the images don't even feature Batman. Some of my favorites highlight the villains and supporting characters. The first page has the top 15, and click "older entries" to see the remaining five images.

Of course, if you have a tumblr, follow me to get more superhero stuff on your dash.
