Wolverine 2 - Still Directorless

Back in May, 20th Century Fox announced that Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) would helm X-Men: First Class, but another installment in the X-Men franchise is still lacking a director. As of September 3, we still haven't learned who will direct Wolverine 2. Some intriguing names are rumored to be on the short list to direct this mega-budget epic starring Hugh Jackman.

In a recent article, MTV's Splashpage listed several names that are possibilities, but the two that seem to be good contenders are shown below, along with a sample of their work. Of the two, my favorite to helm Wolvie 2 is Darren Aronofsky. His 2008 film, The Wrestler, was one of my favorites of the last few years, and I'd love to see what he could do with Wolverine. Do you have a favorite out of these two names, or have you heard of someone else rumored to be in the running? If so, leave a note. I'd like to hear it.
