In case you haven't heard, Jeremy Irons takes over the role of Alfred Pennyworth in the 2016 movie 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', and this Alfred will be much different from the one in the Dark Knight Trilogy (played by Michael Caine).

Thanks to a recent Jeremy Irons interview, we're learning more about how Alfred will be portrayed in 'BvS:DoJ'. Irons chatted with Indiewire about the superhero saga and the actor divulged a few nuggets about Bruce Wayne's loyal butler.

In the interview, Irons describes Alfred as far more than just a butler - he's someone who can call on his experience as a Royal Marine and possesses all types of skills. So, basically Alfred will be someone who is much more action-oriented (and lethal?) than any other movie incarnation of the character. On the television side of the DC Universe, the series 'Gotham' is kinda going the same route - with a badass Alfred played by Sean Pertwee.

Here's a snippet from the interview -

"Oh he'll be quite different. He has an interesting history. He's a very competent man. He's the sort of man I think anyone would like to be married to. He can sort of do everything: change light bulbs, blow up bridges if he has to." - Jeremy Irons

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' opens March 25, 2016.
