The question on many a fan's mind is whether or not Ben Affleck will star in a solo Batman movie - one that hasn't been announced yet. Thomas Roach (writing for Flickering Myth) has offered a well supported argument on why its highly unlikely we'll see The Dark Knight in his own film (at least for the next several years).
Here's one of Thomas' reasons for Warner Bros. not scheduling a Batman movie -
"A reason why there may not be any solo movies for Batman is because it is too soon after The Dark Knight Trilogy. Fans were blown away by this trilogy and it changed the face of the superhero movie. While it was more grounded realistic than other superhero movies, the latest version of Batman will likely be more faithful to the comic books, and comparisons will be made." - Thomas Roach
That makes sense, yeah? I must admit, when I heard WB omitted a Batman movie from its upcoming releases I thought they were crazy. However, on further thought I can see why it makes sense.
