Robert Downey Jr. Talks Avengers: Age of Ultron

When Marvel's 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' drops next summer Tony Stark will be in a much different place than he was in 2012's 'The Avengers'.

In an interview dated 10-30-14, Robert Downey Jr. talks about how Stark has changed, both physically and psychologically, since the last time we saw the character in 'Iron Man 3'.

Here's a snippet from the interview, courtesy of Marvel's Marc Strom -

“I thought that the third Iron Man was about [Tony] transcending his dependence on the merits of continuing to wear your wound,” the actor elaborates. “That was what [director] Shane [Black] and I thought was the real win, that he throws that thing that had become a dependency away. Because that was the question I was always asking, why doesn’t he get those shards out [of his chest]? It’s dangerous." - Robert Downey Jr., via

'Avengers: Age of Ultron' opens May 1, 2015.
