Who Will Star In 'The Fantastic Four'?

With all the recent news about franchises like Warner's 'Man of Steel 2' and Sony's 'Amazing Spider-Man', it's easy to forget another superhero movie is on the horizon. It looks like 20th Century Fox is steadily making progress on the cinematic reboot of one of comicdom's greatest teams - 'The Fantastic Four'. The long-in-development reboot is targeted for a June 19, 2015 opening.

'The Fantastic Four' Script Is Finished

Variety reported today (1-21-14) that screenwriter Simon Kinberg submitted the final version of the script to Fox and director Josh Trank will test actors for the roles of Reed Richards and Sue Storm within the next two weeks.

In December 2013, 20th Century Fox announced that Kinberg would guide the studio's Marvel franchises - X-Men and Fantastic Four. Kinberg told The Hollywood Reporter that he wants to expand both properties (much like Marvel Studios has done with The Avengers).

"I have a lot of ideas on how to built those brands and do what everybody is thinking of these days: Be like Marvel. I want to be able to build stories over multiple movies." - Simon Kinberg

These Actors Are Rumored To Be Testing For Roles

According to Variety, Miles Teller, Kit Harrington, and Richard Madden will test for Richards, while Saoirse Ronan and Kate Mara will try out for Sue Storm.

The role of Sue's brother, Johnny Storm, is rumored to belong to Michael B. Jordan. As for the rock-skinned Ben Grimm (The Thing), there's still no word on how Trank and company plan to portray the character. No one outside the production knows if they'll use an actor and makeup effects, CGI, or motion-capture technology. With the movie set to begin shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in March, we're bound to learn the answer very soon.
