Learn about Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy in a Behind-the-Scenes Video

Guardians of the Galaxy, concept art, movie, capes on film

As any self-respecting geek knows, one of the movies on Marvel Studios' 2014 release schedule is  Guardians of the Galaxy. A lot of people were surprised when Marvel announced they were making GOTG (including me) because the characters weren't well known to non-comic book fans. However, Marvel has about 18 months to re-introduce the characters to the world and make sure everybody is up-to-speed when the movie hits in August 2014.

On February 27, Marvel launched a new Guardians of the Galaxy comic book that'll fit in with the movie adaptation. The comic is written by one of the best in the business - Brian Michael Bendis, and the art is by the equally talented Steve McNiven.

I totally admit I'm not exactly a GOTG expert, and I could use a crash course in all things "Guardians". If you're also in need of a little GOTG info, then Marvel's got you're back. MTVGeek shot the video below, which talks to all the creative minds behind the new GOTG comic book.

Bendis explains how the book and movie will be different in many ways, but the book will be "thematically" similar to the movie. It's all fascinating stuff if you have an interest in how these books and movies are made.

Check out the video and let me know what you think.
