Tony Stark has New Armor in Pics from Iron Man 3 Set

Cameras are once again rolling on the Iron Man 3 production, and we're getting a sneak peek at the new armor Tony Stark will be sporting in the film. The pics below are from the Miami, Florida location, and you'll notice a big change in the armor from the last time we saw ol' Shell Head in action, in Marvel's The Avengers. I'm still undecided if I like this new look, but it's a good bet that the suit will look different on screen, once CG effects are added. 

Although Iron Man 3's plot isn't known at this point, rumors are that it involves a new type of tech called "Extremis", which was featured in the Iron Man comic books a few years ago. An example of that new Stark technology might be what we see in these pics.

That red, white, and blue gent next to Iron Man is known in the comic books as Iron Patriot - a relatively recent addition to the Marvel Universe. In the comics, the nefarious Norman Osborne created and wore the Iron Patriot suit as means to replace Iron Man, but that origin will surely be changed for Iron Man 3. I can't wait to see  how this new armored hero (villain?) is adapted for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
