Even though many people (including yours truly) proclaimed it as the greatest superhero movie ever, Marvel's The Avengers did receive criticism for one perceived flaw. Some viewers thought it could have benefited from at least one more strong female character. Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Maria Hill, were the only key female characters who appeared in the super-team's first outing. Of course, we need to cut Marvel a little break here, because there's only so many characters they can fit on the screen at one time. However, I would love to see another super-powered female denizen of Marvel Universe join the boys in The Avengers sequel.
Marvel Studios has many female superheroes that could possibly join The Avengers. Who should suit up and become one of "Earth's Mightiest Heroes", and stand alongside Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Black Widow?
Out of the nearly two dozen characters that might have a shot at their big screen debut, I've narrowed the list to four. My selection is pictured above - Moondragon, The Scarlet Witch, Wasp, and She-Hulk.
